A Data-Driven Approach to Mapping & Amplifying Creative Communities

Pilot Overview

The Community Vibe Index (CVI): Emerging Cities 2025 is a pioneering initiative designed to codify, measure, and amplify the cultural vibrancy of cities. By integrating qualitative and quantitative data, CVI provides actionable insights to help destinations unlock the full potential of their creative economies. The pilot project will test the methodology in select cities, refining the framework for broader application.

Objectives

  • Codify a baseline measurement of creative vibrancy in target cities.

  • Identify key cultural assets, networks, and gaps within the creative ecosystem.

  • Provide city leaders, DMOs, and stakeholders with strategic insights for creative economy growth.

  • Develop a replicable framework for expanding CVI to multiple destinations.

Methodology

The CVI methodology is designed to codify the creative DNA of a place through:

  • Cultural Asset Mapping: Identifying key creative hubs, events, and institutions.

  • Community Insights: Stakeholder interviews, local engagement, and sentiment analysis.

  • Economic & Social Indicators: Evaluating the impact of creative industries on jobs, tourism, and economic growth.

  • Digital & Media Footprint: Analyzing presence, engagement, and global perception.

Pilot City Selection Criteria

  • A strong existing creative scene with growth potential.

  • Engagement from local stakeholders (DMOs, cultural leaders, policymakers).

  • A diverse mix of creative sectors (arts, music, gaming, design, film, etc.).

  • Opportunities to activate findings through strategic partnerships and programming.

Expected Outcomes

  • A comprehensive report with actionable recommendations for city leaders.

  • A validated CVI framework for future implementation in new markets.

  • Identification of investment and policy opportunities to strengthen creative economy.

  • Strategic partnerships that leverage the insights to drive creative growth.
